MI6 head speaks. Good man.

If we know or believe action by us will lead to torture taking place, we're required by UK and international law to avoid that action. And we do, even though that allows the terrorist activity to go ahead.

Some may question this, but we are clear that it's the right thing to do. It makes us strive all the harder to find different ways, consistent with human rights, to get the outcome we want.
Western society in general and the U.S. in particular, must re-capture the moral high ground from a bogus see-what-you-want-to-see (due to your ideology/anger over the Persian Gulf War) intelligence fiasco and Abu Ghraib and murders in Afghanistan and torture in Guantanamo Bay and the idiots in the West Bank and Gaza. Nothing but love and respect for my brothers and sisters in the IDF, Mossad and Shin Bet - but the settlers just need to go away.

And the Neocons need to figure out that heavy-handed turning the Middle East into a parking lot just isn't gonna do much good for American business in the long run. Or in the medium term - in the long run we're all dead.
